Sheboygan-based property and casualty insurer Acuity plans to build a $130 million, 240,000-square-foot expansion to its existing 450,000-square-foot corporate headquarters at 2800 S. Taylor Drive.
The project includes essentially tripling the footprint of the 85-foot-tall galleria in the center of the building. In addition, a permanent 65-foot-tall Ferris wheel will be erected inside the building. The project will also include an enclosed 2,000-seat theater in the round. New parking structures will replace the parking lots for employees and visitors and will sit at the northwest and southwest corners of the building. The structures will hold up to about 3,000 vehicles. Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects is the designer for the project.
