A&A Manufacturing becomes Dynatect Manufacturing

Organizations:

New Berlin-based A&A Manufacturing has created a new entity and renamed itself by combining its eight companies under its ownership to form Dynatect Manufacturing.

Dynatect has seven manufacturing facilities and two distribution locations, and will continue to be headquartered in New Berlin. It is the largest manufacturer of dynamic industrial equipment protection in the country.

“Today’s launch reflects how we’ve actually been working for years,” said Brian McSharry, chief executive officer of Dynatect. “Whilst we used to front the market with several different companies, we’ve really always been a single one-stop shop for the whole gamut of industrial equipment protection. Engineers and technical field advisors across all companies have liaised closely to deliver the optimal solution for each unique application. Nevertheless, the many companies involved admittedly made for some confusion among our clients. Dynatect resolves that issue.”

The new entity will serve the machine tool, medical, automation, oil and gas, construction and agriculture, transportation and MRO markets. Combined, the company has 500,000 custom designs for protective coverings, cable and hose carriers, mechanical motion control and elastomer components.

“It’s all about achieving a clearer business offering,” said Tony Cavalco, senior vice president. “We have seen significant growth through new product development and acquisitions over the last four years. We were clearly doing something right. Now, we’ve taken the time needed to identify what underpins this success. We are confident we can maintain quality and innovation as we combine our capabilities into a single, unified organization which will concentrate on increased sales into targeted industries.”

Brands included in the new company that will retain their product range labels include Gortite, Gortrac and Polyclutch.

“These brands have been around for so long, they’re part of U.S. industrial history, and we want people to know that Dynatect will honor their legacy,” McSharry said. “We will continue the tradition of vertical integration and commitment to quality that our founder Gerald O’Rourke started back in the 1940s. These values have led to Gortite today having a 60% share in the highly competitive domestic U.S. market, and they are bound to lead to even greater successes as we move forward as Dynatect on the international market.”

Ro-Lab, Lead Screws International and German companies MFB and Halltech, which have all been acquired by A&A since 2012, will retain their brand names.

A&A was last week acquired by London-based international investment manager 3i Group plc and its management. The company, which has 474 employees worldwide and about $91 million in revenues, plans to grow in Europe and Asia through the investment, which totaled $110 million.
