Al Krueger has been appointed director, digital and innovation, at MorganMyers in Waukesha. Prior to joining MorganMyers, Krueger founded Milwaukee-based PR and social media agency Comet Branding LLC, which merged with Hanson Dodge Creative in 2011. In his new leadership role at MorganMyers, Krueger will contribute to social, digital, brand and creative initiatives for agency clients. He will also build on the agency’s overall digital presence and communications and branding efforts.
Architecture
AG Architecture, located in Wauwatosa, has hired Ben Shock to its engineering team and has added Kevin Storma and Shaun Sullivan to its architectural team.
Banking & Finance
Stewart-Peterson Inc., headquartered in West Bend, has hired Shelly Sievert to its business development team and Melissa Heaney to its agricultural market consulting team. Sievert will focus on adding to the firm’s agricultural client base, and Heaney will be responsible for customizing marketing strategies for the company’s Market260sm clients who need to better manage the effects of fluctuating commodity prices.
Waukesha State Bank’s board of directors promoted Paula Brierton to president of payroll services, known as Payroll Complete. Brierton has been with the bank since 2009. In this new role, Brierton will focus on cultivating new business development, enhancing customer relations and servicing, and driving new product development and implementation. She will also be responsible for overseeing Payroll Complete’s operations and its employees.
Design
Hare Strigenz Inc., based in Milwaukee, has welcomed Hannah Buckmaster as a graphic designer. In her new position, Buckmaster will develop digital and traditional design solutions for print, packaging and online media.
Education
UW-Parkside, located in Kenosha, has named Dr. Walter Jacobs III founding dean of the College of Social Sciences and Professional Studies. Jacobs chaired the Department of African American & African Studies at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus for nearly five years. The university also recently hired Heather Kind-Keppel as diversity and inclusion manager. Kind-Keppel previously worked for Richland Community College for about five years as director of student engagement, director of campus life and instructor for service learning and leadership courses.
Alverno College, located in Milwaukee, has named Dr. Nancy Athanasiou dean of the college’s School of Education. Athanasiou previously served as an associate dean in the School of Education where she oversaw the undergraduate program. In her new leadership position, she will oversee the School of Education and work with faculty improve student achievement.
Marquette University, located in Milwaukee, has appointed Michael VanDerhoef vice president for university advancement. He will begin in his new position in September. VanDerhoef graduated from Marquette in 1984 and currently is president of the Virginia Mason Foundation, the fundraising branch of Virginia Mason Health System in Seattle. He is also vice president of Virginia Mason Medical Center. At Marquette, VanDerhoef will be in charge of the university’s engagement and fundraising efforts targeted toward Marquette alumni, community partners and university friends.
Engineering
R.A. Smith National, based in Brookfield, has hired Scott Ginal as structures manager. Ginal has more than 11 years of experience in structural design and has completed design work for state and local government, county highway departments, municipalities, and private sector clients. He specializes in designing bridges, retaining structures, and wastewater treatment facilities and buildings.
Health Care
Dr. Amanda Rizzari has been appointed a staff psychiatrist by Rogers Memorial Hospital at its inpatient program in Oconomowoc. Rizzari previously worked in hospitals and treatment centers in Texas. In her new position at Rogers Memorial Hospital, she will focus on adult psychiatry.
Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, headquartered in Glendale, has appointed Angela Adams director, communication and public relations. Adams will focus on media relations, video production, content development for communication and social media channels and special projects. Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare also recently appointed Carin Croker director of palliative care and Dr. Kerry Case medical director of palliative care.
Interior Design
Creative Business Interiors, based in West Allis, has hired Linda Dalen as account receivable operator. In this role, Dalen will be responsible for invoicing clients, receiving payments, filing sales tax and handling custom clients’ software applications among other tasks. The company has also transitioned Heather Colligan-Clarke from an account manager to its business development team.
Schroeder Solutions, based in New Berlin, has added Jen Carlson as an account manager to its sales team. Carlson has more than 13 years of experience working in the contract furniture and workplace design industry. In her new role, Carlson will work primarily with companies located in southwestern Wisconsin.
Legal Services
Cross Law Firm S.C. added Daniel Rosenow as an employment rights attorney in its Waukesha office. Rosenow will specialize in severance negotiations, job counseling, individual and class-action wage and hour litigation, wrongful discharge, discrimination, disability accommodation and worker’s compensation. He will also assist clients with contract negotiations and will represent unions in collective bargaining matters.

Wixon, based in St. Francis, has promoted Mary Nameth to food ingredients buyer. In her new position, Nameth will manage purchasing of food ingredients, such as chemicals, flavors, garlic and onion. Prior to her promotion, she worked as a purchasing clerk at Wixon for two years.

Tom Gaertner has been appointed director of sales for WCGV-TV Channel 24 and WVTV-TV Channel 18 Milwaukee. Gaertner’s media background includes management experience at BizTimes Media, Time Warner Cable, WKLH FM 96.5 and WISN-TV Channel 12. In his new leadership position, he will manage all television and digital sales for WCGV-TV and WVTV-TV.
Kurt Chandler has been named editor of Milwaukee Magazine. Chandler will replace editor Cristina Daglas, who has been appointed editor of D Magazine in Dallas. Chandler previously spent 14 years as a senior editor at Milwaukee Magazine and filled in as acting editor from June 2003 to October 2004. He also has experience as an author and newspaper staffer.
Chris Haworth has been appointed director, business development, at Out of Home America Wilkins Media, an independent, full-service, out-of-home media agency in Germantown. Haworth has more than 10 years of experience working in out-of-home advertising. He most recently worked for Clear Channel Outdoor-Milwaukee.

Kathryn Buono, a partner in Quarles & Brady LLP’s Milwaukee office, and her husband, John Buono, will serve as honorary chairs of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 15th annual Breath of Life Gala, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19. Quarles & Brady is sponsoring this year’s event.

Enterforce Inc., based in Pewaukee, recently promoted Steve O’Shea to director, client services, for the Harley-Davidson client account. Enterforce has also promoted Katherine Lehnherr to alliance partner coordinator; Peggy Neimon to director, implementation and analytics; Lori Bottoni to vice president of administration; and Randall Harlan to vice president of communications and integrated services.
Technology
International Business Systems, headquartered in Waukesha, had added to its executive team with the appointment of Susie Andrews to vice president, global human resources, and the appointment of Mohit Paul to vice president of sales overseeing Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company also recently named Laura Fese general counsel and Tim Conroy general manager of Americas.
AT&T Inc. recently named David Ven Roy director of sales for wireless operations in Wisconsin. Ven Roy has been a part of AT&T’s staff since 2001 and most recently was an associate director with the Retail Leadership and Development Program. In his new leadership role, Ven Roy will guide the company’s retail operations in 20 company-owned stores throughout the state. He will be based in the Milwaukee office.
Think Tanks
The Public Policy Forum, based in Milwaukee, has added Virginia Carlson as research director. Carlson’s background in policy research includes three years of overseeing a Chicago-based nonprofit research organization focused on compiling and reviewing data on social policy and human needs for Chicago. Carlson also taught at UW-Milwaukee’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning for 13 years, and she has assisted with various national economic development research efforts. She has worked as director for World Business Chicago and held research positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the University of Illinois-Chicago as well.
