Paul Purcell, chairman, president and CEO of Robert W. Baird & Co., has been selected to receive The University of Chicago Booth School of Business 2009 Distinguished Corporate Alumni Award.
The recognition is awarded annually to a Chicago Booth alumnus who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in a corporate setting. Purcell was chosen for this honor by a committee of about 60 Chicago Booth alumni from across the globe. He will receive the award at the school’s annual alumni celebration dinner Nov. 6.
“Throughout his career, Paul has consistently demonstrated the leadership, intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, passion and commitment to community service that are hallmarks of a first-class businessperson,” said Ted Snyder, dean of Chicago Booth. “With the 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award, he has been confirmed by his peers to represent Chicago Booth’s approach to leadership and the creation of durable value for his organization. We, along with his colleagues at Baird, are proud to claim him as our own.”
Mark Quinlan, executive vice president and chief information officer of Associated Banc-Corp., was recently honored for his leadership in developing a technology strategy at the bank by BAI Banking Strategies at the organization’s 2009 “Maverick Banker of the Year” awards ceremony. Quinlan developed new core banking and branch automation systems in a new in-house environment for the bank, replacing or rebuilding all of its systems other than its trust, brokerage and human resources systems.

Nicholas DeQuardo was recently hired by MetLife Greater Milwaukee as a financial services representative. DeQuardo is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is a registered representative of MetLife, and is a member of the Italian Community Center, as well as the Italian Commerce Association.
First Business Bank – Milwaukee has promoted Tari Hansen to senior client relationship officer and Sarah Szejn to client relationship officer. Hansen has been with First Business more than 10 years and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Szejn has six years of experience in the financial services industry amd holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.
