What does your daily or weekly fitness regimen consist of?

I teach Spinning 2x a week, and I get out on my bike as much as I can when it’s warm. With four kids, that’s actually pretty rare.

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any?

The WAC

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?

Fitness gives me balance, and it makes me a much better husband and father. It also allows me to set aside a little time for myself to do something positive even if it’s only a few hours a week.

How does personal fitness affect your work life?

It allows me to leave the stress of work on my desk each night.

Do you have a corporate health or wellness initiative?

Yes

What health/wellness organizations do you contract with, if any?

I sleep soundly, I feel awesome when I get up and all of the time in between is 100% better when I’m more fit.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?

I implemented a Wellness Initiative for 2008 that includes health club discounts, in-office massages as well as financial and mental fitness programs. I prefer to be around happy people, and I do what I can to make that happen.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?

Move. Bring the body and the mind will follow. Most people try to do everything at once, and ultimately fail.  Start by making tiny changes, healthier decisions, and build on that.
