Extended-stay hotel will open next month in heart of downtown Waukesha
A September opening is anticipated for a new extended-stay hotel is being built in downtown Waukesha.
The property is being marketed as a luxury corporate and short-term apartment facility.
Bryce Styza Properties, LLC, is building the property, named The Landing, near the Fox River at 100 E. Main St.
The Landing is a four-story facility that will have 116 apartments, meeting rooms, underground parking, a fitness center, a convenience store, and an indoor pool and whirlpool.
Length of stays can vary from overnight to yearlong leases. The property’s architecture features a stone and brick exterior, and will boast one of Waukesha’s largest clock faces in its two-sided clock tower.
The development of The Landing was brought about by a market study showing that many of Waukesha’s larger businesses regularly bring employees from elsewhere to the community for several months at a time for training, projects and relocation, developer Bryce Styza said.
"We often had inquiries at our apartment communities from people looking for longer stays than would be economical at a traditional hotel, yet were too short-term for our apartments," Styza said. "After conducting market research, we determined that downtown Waukesha and the entire community would benefit from a property like The Landing."
Apartments will come both furnished and unfurnished, and each apartment will have its own full-size kitchen, dining area, living room and washer and dryer. In addition, maid service will be available, along with some more traditional hotel amenities. The Landing is currently accepting applications for one-year leases to begin when the hotel opens in September.
"We’re very pleased with the level of interest that we’ve experienced from people just driving by the construction site," said the property’s general manager, David Kanouse. "In fact, we’ve already signed a number of leases and are receiving inquiries daily about the facility."
The Landing is a part of the Waukesha-based Bryce Styza Properties, LLC, which includes Harmony Homes, Inc., an investment real estate and land development company, as well as a number of apartment communities, including the Rivers Edge Apartments that neighbors The Landing.
