7-Eleven to open downtown Milwaukee store

Downtown Milwaukee has struggled to attract retailers for years. But convenience store chain 7-Eleven plans to open a location at 184 W. Wisconsin Ave. in the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel.

The 7-Eleven recently signed a lease for 3,850 square feet of space in the building. Mid-America Real Estate brokers Tony Colvin and Dan Cohen represented 7-Eleven in brokering the deal.

The space was formerly occupied by Ed’s Menswear.

The closest 7-Eleven locations to downtown Milwaukee are on North Avenue on the East Side and on the Marquette University campus.
