ZBB obtains $2.8 million in financing

Organizations:

Menomonee Falls-based ZBB Energy Corp. has received $1.3 million in funding from Wisconsin’s State Energy Program, as well as a $1.5 million loan from Waukesha-based Investors Bank.

The funds will be used for working capital and continued research and development on ZBB’s next generation energy storage system. The company hopes to release its next generation battery system in the third quarter of the fiscal year, which ends in June, 2011.

"This financing will enable accelerated ramps of our new power management and battery systems, which will lead to added jobs,” said Eric Apfelbach, CEO of ZBB.

ZBB is a developer of power management systems that link renewable energy sources and traditional onsite power generation systems with batteries and other energy storage systems. The company employs about 30 workers at its headquarters, manufacturing and research and development facility in Menomonee Falls.
