YPWeek returns in April

Newaukee has announced plans to hold the third annual YPWeek in downtown Milwaukee April 12-19.

Throughout the course of the eight-day conference, the social networking group brings together young professionals from all backgrounds to discuss issues relevant to their generation. The conference plays out through 30 events at 25 Milwaukee locations and spotlights how area government, corporate and nonprofit entities are impacting the city.

“Milwaukee is home to many organizations and community assets that engage, develop and retain the local young professional community,” said Angela Damiani, president of Newaukee. “YPWeek allows Milwaukee’s young professionals to discover the city’s incredible assets and engage in meaningful conversations around issues that matter.”

On this note, the eight days also present an opportunity to “create a springboard for idea and goal sharing among Milwaukee’s millennial workforce,” according to Newaukee.

YPWeek 2014 highlights include an adult sleepover at the Milwaukee Public Museum; a live performance by the Milwaukee Ballet to music by local rock band, “The Fatty Acids; “World Water Day,” hosted by Badger Meter and the Water Council; a reverse job fair at the Milwaukee Art Museum; a soccer tournament; and a keynote address by John Burke, CEO of Trek Bikes.
