Jeff Yabuki, president and chief executive officer of Brookfield-based Fiserv Inc., will headline a stellar panel of business executives at the 2013 Northern Trust Economic Trends Breakfast.
The event will take place on Friday, Jan. 18, at the Italian Conference Center in downtown Milwaukee.
The annual event provides BizTimes readers with a preview of the year ahead in business.
Yabuki will share his insights about the cutting-edge technologies that are changing how consumers and companies communicate and conduct business.
Michael Knetter, Ph.D., economist and president of the University of Wisconsin Foundation in Madison, will return to provide a macroeconomic overview. Knetter will share his predictions about the economy, including the gross domestic product, the unemployment rate, the value of the U.S. dollar, household income, the trade deficit and other factors.
The panel will be rounded out by three more executives who will provide snapshots of their respective industries in the year ahead:
• Larry Borgard, president and chief operating officer of utilities for Integrys Energy Group Inc., the Chicago-based parent company of Wisconsin Public Service in Green Bay. Borgard will discuss emerging economic trends in the energy and utility sectors.
• Gerald Frye, president and owner of Benefit Services Group Inc. in Pewaukee. Frye will discuss the impact of Obamacare.
• Peter Gottsacker, president of Wixon Inc. in St. Francis. Gottsacker will discuss emerging trends in manufacturing.
The breakfast will be followed by breakout sessions led by business experts featuring tax planning for 2013, Obamacare, asset protection and strategies for mergers and acquisitions.
