Wisconsin eBusiness Forum formed

Wisconsin-based businesses and organizations have a new forum for collaborating with and learning from those who are developing and deploying e-business strategies. The Wisconsin eBusiness Forum (or "WeBF"), dedicated to supporting the interests of e-business professionals from around the state, is now incorporated as an association based in Milwaukee.

WeBF will focus on information and education, and will share experiences with professional, technical, sales and service, financial and executive members in the application and use of electronic business technologies, said Beth Ackley, WeBF’s president. "We believe there is a need for business people to be able to discuss their e-business initiatives and best practices, review what worked and did not work, and learn from real return-on-investment examples. We continue to invest in technology, even during uncertain economic times, and we have to be prudent before each investment is made" said Ackley, director of Information Services at Strattec Security Corp.
The group has been organized to facilitate discussions on a variety of e-business-related topics during association meetings, on-line Web seminars and a yearly e-business conference. The WeBF Web site, currently under construction at www.webf.org, will allow members and potential members to easily access details about upcoming meetings, obtain membership and sponsorship information, post questions and feedback, and learn about the WeBF’s board of directors, said Ackley.
Organizations involved in the formation and planning of WeBF include e-business professionals from Arrow Products, Exacta Corporation, International Business Machines (IBM), IPNet Solutions, Johnsonville Sausage, Manpower, Millennium Partners, Strattec Security, Tal Systems, UW-Whitewater Global Business Resource Center, and Velvac.
