Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival tour will bring a host of big-name folk and rock artists to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater during this year’s Summerfest.
The 10-hour festival will kick off at 1 p.m. on June 27. In addition to Willie Nelson & Family, the festival lineup includes: Phil Lesh & Friends, The Avett Brothers, Counting Crows, Alison Krauss, Dawes and Trapper Schoepp.
The Outlaw Music Festival last came to Summerfest in 2017, with a lineup that included Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow and Jason Isbell. It was the first time Milwaukee World Festival Inc., the Milwaukee-based Summerfest operator, booked a festival within a festival. The inaugural Outlaw Music Festival debuted in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2016.
The headlining acts announced so far for Summerfest 2019 include:
- Thomas Rhett with Dustin Lynch and Russell Dickerson on June 26.
- Outlaw Music Festival on June 27.
- Jason Aldean and Kane Brown on June 28.
- Bon Iver with Lord Huron and Julien Baker on June 29.
- Zac Brown Band on June 30.
- Ozzy Osbourne on July 4.
- The Killers with Death Cab for Cutie on July 5.
Summerfest 2019 runs June 26-30 and July 2-7. Work is currently underway on phase 1 of $50 million in improvements to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater at Henry Maier Festival Park. A portion of the amphitheater’s roof was recently raised to nearly twice its original height, increasing the production capabilities of the concert venue.
