Milwaukee-based United Tool Inc., a machine shop and tool and die company, plans to move its operations to a larger facility in Pewaukee.
The company, which has about 32 employees, recently purchased a 27,530-square-foot building at N27 W23591 Paul Road, Pewaukee, from J&K of Waukesha LLC for $1.5 million, according to state records. The building is more than twice the size of the company’s current 12,800-square-foot facility at 8219 W. Bradley Road in Milwaukee.
“I need more space,” said Ronald Kelnhofer, the owner of United Tool.
The company has been located on Bradley Road since 1980.
Kelnhofer said he was happy doing business in Milwaukee but could not find a facility in the city that met his company’s needs.
“I was hoping to buy the building next door, but we could not come to an agreement with the sellers,” he said.
The company plans to complete the move to Pewaukee by the second week in August, Kelnhofer said.
