U.S. Bank to add office space, jobs in Brookfield

Minneapolis U.S. Bancorp is growing its operations in Brookfield, leasing more office and planning to add about jobs.
The company recently leased 20,796 square feet of office space at 400 N. Executive Dr., Brookfield, from Executive Center WI LLC. Ned Purtell and Kate Hanson of RFP Commercial represented U.S. Bank in brokering the lease.
U.S. Bank will move its technical operations services (TOS) division to the building from its 115,000-square-foot office building at 16900 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield. The building is a former Kmart store that U.S. Bank converted into an office building and has used for about 15 years, said Joe Ullrich, U.S. Bancorp vice president of corporate real estate. Currently about 625 employees work there.
“We have continued to grow there and fill up that space and have outgrown it,” he said.
About 110 people will work in the Executive Drive building, Ullrich said. Most of them are moving from the Capitol Drive building, but some of the jobs will be new positions, he said.
U.S. Bank is building out the space and plans to move into the Executive Drive building by the end of November, Ullrich said.
TOS shared the Capitol Drive building with U.S. Bank’s mortgage servicing operations, which will remain there and will add about 100 jobs over the course of the next year, Ullrich said.
U.S. Bank plans to reconfigure its office space in the Capitol Drive building to improve its efficiency and increase its capacity. The building is currently cramped with several employees whose workspaces are in conference rooms, Ullrich said.
The company’s Brookfield job growth is a boon to the metro Milwaukee area because those employees are providing serve for business done throughout the entire country, Ullrich said.
“These are export jobs,” he said.
