Schlitz Park has announced a partnership with Salus Corporate Wellness in hosting the third annual Corporate Challenge, a corporate run/walk event on Sept. 19 that advocates employee health and wellness.
Schlitz Park, the downtown riverfront office structure, has also scheduled its second annual Schlitz Park Miler for June 25. The Miler awards cash prizes to the top three male and female runners ages 20-39 and 40 or over as well as to the man who breaks last year’s first place time of 4 minutes and 29 seconds and the woman who beats last year’s time of 5 minutes and 12 seconds.
“All of these events demonstrate that Schlitz Park and downtown are not only great places to take care of business but also your health and well-being,” said Schlitz Park developer Gary Grunau. “Health and wellness offerings are important amenities that attract and retain tenants and employees to downtown and Schlitz Park.”
Schlitz Park invited Salus to hold its Corporate Challenge at the office park this year after the 2012 event drew more than 40 corporate teams. The park hosted a separate 5K run/walk from the Corporate Challenge last year.
“The Corporate Challenge provides Wisconsin organizations with the opportunity to flex their muscles as health-conscious companies committed to wellness,” said Michael Boehmer, director of wellness and fitness services for Salus. “All Corporate Challenge participants receive a free eight-week training plan and finish line dinner celebration plus other perks.”
Interested participants can sign up at a discounted rate of $10 for the Miler and $20 for the Corporate Challenge through March 1. The Miler will benefit DreamBikes Milwaukee, and proceeds from the Corporate Challenge will support Milwaukee Riverkeeper.
