Potawatomi call for applications for ‘Miracle on Canal Street’

Organizations:

Potawatomi Bingo Casino is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2013 “Miracle on Canal Street” charity campaign.

In its 20th year, the signature holiday campaign donates funds to nonprofits throughout southeastern Wisconsin that are primarily devoted to improving the lives of children.

The campaign is made possible in large part through dollars generated by designated bingo games at the casino.

To apply for a chance to receive a portion of the available funds, organizations must have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status; target their mission toward the benefit of children under age 18; and be based in Milwaukee, Racine, Washington, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Sheboygan or Walworth counties.

Last year’s charity program distributed nearly $1 million among 30 groups with focuses ranging from health and wellness to food access and education. Since the Potawatomi launched the “Miracle on Canal Street” charity campaign in 1994, it has donated more than $12.5 million to hundreds of Milwaukee-area organizations.

Applications for the 2013 campaign must be postmarked by Thursday, June 20. For more details about submitting an application, visit www.paysbig.com/miracle.
