Rich Kowalski joined PDC Midwest, Hartland, as an architect. Kowalski has more than 30 years of experience in architecture and construction.

Barrientos Design, Milwaukee, hired Ryan Thacker as a project architect and Sunny Shakula in marketing and client relations. Thacker has nine years of experience in architecture. Shakula has five years of marketing and administration experience.

Kahler Slater, Milwaukee, hired Eric Mayne as an architect on the hospitality team and Jennifer Bottcher as a graphic designer for the client services team. Amerihome Mortgage, Brookfield, hired Tom Ender as business development manager and Kerry Korosec as senior secondary marketing specialist. Ender has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Korosec has 15 years of experience in the finance industry.

Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc., Milwaukee, hired Brenda Skelton as director of marketing and promoted John Rumpf to director of corporate communications. Skelton has more than 25 years of marketing, communications and public relations experience. Amanda Toepel
joined MSI General, Oconomowoc, as a project estimator. Prior to joining MSI General, Toepel served as an assistant project manager for the Redmond Co., Waukesha. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UW-Madison.

The Brookfield office of Mortenson Construction, Minneapolis, hired Mark McVay as a safety engineer and Craig Voight as a senior superintendent. Mortenson promoted Ben Anderson and Brad King to assistant superintendent; Brian Boecker, Mike Gleeson and Kurt Theune to project manager; and Josh Skogman to assistant project manager.

The Milwaukee office of Gilbane, Providence, R.I., hired Mike Quilty as a project executive and Carolyn Paaske as a project accountant. Quilty has more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Paaske has more than 20 years of experience in construction accounting.

Wally Mason joined Marquette University as the director of the Haggerty Museum of Art. Prior to joining Marquette University, Mason served as the director for the Museum of Art at the University of Maine for 11 years.

Engineering
National Survey & Engineering, a division of R.A. Smith & Associates, Brookfield, promoted Drew Miazga to project surveyor and Ricky Smith to project manager. Miazga most recently served as a survey technician. Smith most recently served as a civil engineer.

The Milwaukee office of STS, Vernon Hills, Ill., a division of AECOM Technology, L.A., promoted Matthew Emrick to senior project engineer. Emrick joined the firm in 2000. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UW-Madison.

Joan Burke,
a community volunteer from Big Bend, will serve as chapter chair of the Milwaukee Chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), Washington, D.C., a partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Bernard Howaniec, a community volunteer from Waukesha, will serve as chapter vice chair. Rubin Sharper, a community volunteer from Milwaukee, will serve as vice chair for administration. Tom Radtke, a community volunteer from Brookfield, will serve as treasurer. Dick Boemer, a community volunteer from Brookfield, will serve as secretary.

Health Care
The Medical College of Wisconsin hired Dr. Jennifer Derenne as an assistant professor of psychiatry and Dr. Stephen Lanzarotti as associate professor of surgery in trauma and critical care. Derenne also joined the medical staff of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa. Lanzarotti joined the medical staff of Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa.

Renee Ramirez joined the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic, Waukesha, as executive director. Prior to joining the clinic, Ramirez served as director of business operations of Gray Mare Preschool, Waukesha, for 16 years.

Dennis Crowley joined Serve You Custom Prescription Management, Milwaukee, as director of client services and contracting. Crowley has more than 20 years of experience in the health care management industry. He most recently served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for National Healthcare Solutions, El Paso, Texas.

Four doctors joined the medical staff of Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls. Dr. Priya Asija specializes in family practice and practices with Advanced Healthcare, Milwaukee. Dr. Peggy Stickney specializes in family practice and practices with Medical Associates, Menomonee Falls. Dr. Melissa Earnest specializes in gastroenterology and practices with Medical Associates, Menomonee Falls. Dr. Carol Wood specializes in internal medicine and geriatrics and practices from Columbia St. Mary’s Germantown Clinic.

Dr. James Ansfield joined the gastroenterology department at Madison Medical Affiliates, Milwaukee. Ansfield will practice from the Lakeside office, Mequon.

Legal Services

Peter Bruce joined Davis & Kuelthau, Milwaukee, as an attorney. Prior to joining Davis & Kuelthau, Bruce worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. for more than 35 years. He recently retired from the position of chief insurance officer. Bruce will focus his practice on community service efforts and will provide pro bono legal services, particularly in the area of guardianship and the foster care system.

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek (WHD), Milwaukee, hired Michael Moore as director of recruiting and integration, Lia Moeser as an attorney in the corporate practice and Rhonda Matthews as an attorney on the litigation team. Moore has 25 years of experience, including 20 years as an attorney and corporate executive and five years as an executive recruiter. Moeser holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University and a law degree from University of Wisconsin Law School. Matthews previously served as an assistant district attorney in Boston.

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren, Milwaukee, hired Amy Arndt, Jesse Capelle and Geoffrey Talmon as attorneys in the business law group; Eric Berman in real estate; Matthew Feery in labor and employment; Michael Haas in trust and estates; Mary McCormack in health care; Alicia Mohn in employee benefits; and Thomas Phillips and Antonio Trillo in litigation.

James Zwadlo joined Association Acumen, Milwaukee, as administrative coordinator. Zwadlo holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York-Potsdam and a master’s degree in library science from Long Island University.

Russ Darrow Automotive Group, Menomonee Falls, hired Steve Church as sales manager for the Russ Darrow GMC-Cadillac dealership, Waukesha and Steve Dortch as general manager of Kia, Waukesha. Dr. Jay Pillai, visiting associate professor at Johns Hopkins, joined the medical advisory board of Kyron Clinical Imaging, Wauwatosa. Pillai specializes in radiology.
