Bachelor’s: Carroll University
Joe Zvesper, executive vice chairman of Kroll, headquartered in New York, with offices in Milwaukee and London, is a 1976 graduate of Carroll University.
He began his studies as an English major with aspirations to study law but discovered a passion for business and ended up graduating magna cum laude with a degree in accounting and economics.
His time at Carroll included service as vice president of the Business Club and on the Student Advisory Council. Following graduation, Zvesper joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the middle market sector.
In 1993, he was recruited to American Appraisal as executive vice president and CFO to lead a management buyout. He eventually became chairman and CEO, leading a global expansion effort that saw the company grow revenue by 525% and expand operations to 30 countries.
By the time American Appraisal was acquired by Duff & Phelps (now Kroll), international operations accounted for 70% of the company’s business.
Zvesper also lends his expertise to Jacsten LLC, a Wisconsin-based investment firm that owns several manufacturing companies in Wisconsin.
