*Saturday, Nov. 3, the 22nd Annual Make a Difference Day, presented by the Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee and Interfaith Older Ault Programs, will benefit older adults who need help with yard work. The event will start with a breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 W. Vliet St. in Milwaukee with yard work running from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at homes near the senior center. More than 1,000 volunteers are scheduled to participate.

*Saturday, Nov. 3, Sounds of Saturday will be held in the Lubar Auditorium of the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. The performance, featuring live music by students and teachers from a top guitar program in the country, is presented by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Year of the Arts as part of its celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Peck School of the Arts. *Tuesday, Nov. 6, BoardStar will host a board orientation manual clinic at Pathfinders, 4200 N. Holton Street in Milwaukee beginning at 9 a.m. The information session will teach participants how to examine their board orientation process and organize a custom orientation manual so that new board directors transition into their leadership role smoothly. Attendees will learn specifically the kinds of materials that should be included in a board manual, why a board manual is crucial to a board’s success and how to format their manual. *Thursday, Nov. 8, HeartLove Place will hold its second annual CHAIRity Auction & Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at its center in the Harambee neighborhood, 3229 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Milwaukee. The auction will feature works from local artists, and proceeds will benefit the nonprofit’s Christian ministry programs and services, which include a child development center, teen center and family resource center. Rev. Dr. Trinette V. McCray, national president of the American Baptist Historical Society and president of Housing Ministries of American Baptists in Wisconsin, will serve as the event’s guest speaker. *Monday, Nov. 12, 8-Twelve Restaurant, owned by Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Braun and Surg Restaurant Group, will host a benefit fundraiser for the children of the three women fatally injured in the Oct. 12 Azana Spa shooting. Tickets cost $100 and include food and beverages. The event, scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., will also feature a silent auction with prizes contributed by Rodgers, Braun, the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Wave and more. *Wednesday, Nov. 14, Saz’s Catering will begin the holiday season with a party to benefit the Hunger Task Force. The party will take place at the Bradley Pavilion at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 929 N. Water St. in Milwaukee, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will include hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. A $10 donation or donation of five non-perishable food items is requested for admission. *Thursday, Nov. 15, the 23rd annual Climbing for a Cure will be held at the U.S. Bank Building, 777 E. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event, which benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, includes a stair climb to the top of the building and a post-climb party with food, drinks, entertainment and awards. Participants must donate or raise a minimum of $75 and take part as individuals or members of three-person teams. All participants will receive a t-shirt and water bottle at the event.
