Kohl's Corp. today announced a partnership with Catherine Malandrino, who will be the third designer for the retailer's DesigNation limited-edition collection.

Yahoo! chief executive officer Marissa Mayer, a Wausau native, sparked a national conversation recently by announcing to her employees that the company will no longer allow telecommuting.

“We have significantly diversified the company,” said Roadrunner CEO Mark DiBlasi. “Our customer base needs a carrier that provides multiple services.”

The state of Wisconsin has a long-standing history of research and innovation.

Wisconsin has one of the fastest growing bioscience sectors in the Midwest. Research plays an important role in that growth.

In Wisconsin, agriculture is a $59.16 billion industry and provides more than 353,000 jobs.

According to the 2012 New Technology Jobs Report produced by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council in partnership with Cool Choices, an organization dedicated to sustainability, these sectors have the potential to create thousands of jobs that will affect Wisconsin’s economy.

Flexible Option will allow students to earn college credit by demonstrating knowledge they have acquired through coursework, military training, on-the-job training and other learning experiences. Students will make progress towards a degree by passing a series of assessments that demonstrate mastery of required knowledge and skills.

Plenty of energy to power a strong economy

Keeping the lights on is as important to business as it is at home. And Wisconsin has a good track record for keeping them burning.

Wisconsin’s location, in the middle of the country, is a plus for business.

John Rupcich, a Cardinal Stritch University MBA graduate, doesn't mind when people refer to him as “quirky.” In fact, he embraces it. His so-called quirkiness actually is key in his approach to business and in the success and growth his company has experienced – even during tough economic times.

There's no question that there's been a notable push for economic development in Wisconsin. The state wants businesses to not only survive, but thrive. With growth comes success, but also greater risks. After all, the more companies have, the more they must protect. Surprisingly, 50 percent of small to medium-market businesses are still lacking the vital data protection of a formal disaster recovery plan.
