Staples Marketing, Pewaukee, has added Erik Skoglund as the agency’s web designer and Karlee Patzlsberger as marketing assistant. Skoglund comes to the firm from Starkmedia. He was a student and employee of University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he worked in the University Relations department. Patzlsberger earned a degree in journalism, Advertising and Media Studies from UW-Milwaukee and worked as an intern at Northwestern Mutual.
Hanson Dodge Creative, Milwaukee, has hired Katy Young as accounting and billing administrator.

Bray Architects has added a new architect to the firm. Denise Beneke joins Bray from San Antonio, where she worked on federal and municipal projects. She has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Kansas State University.
Triad Construction, West Allis, has hired Alan Peschl as project manager. Peschl has nearly 20 years of construction experience.
Hartland-based PDC Midwest Inc. announced two new hires. They are Peter Fruncek, project architect; and Tom Dovi, construction manager.
The Redmond Company, Waukesha, has hired Ron Dow as a project superintendent. Dow has 20 years of experience in the construction industry.

The Butler Area Chamber of Commerce has hired Cassandra Wind, of Wind Touch Healing, LLC in Brookfield, as its new Executive Director.

Titus, a Wauwatosa-based independent consulting firm, has hired three new professionals. Vashti Horvat will serve as manager of the Risk Management Services Practice. He recently worked as a project consultant for Koss, MATC and Grainger. Simon Craig is manager of Titus Direct, the firm’s professional recruiting arm and Tony Heller is the firm’s new HR manager.
Education
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has named Brett Peters dean of the College of Engineering & Applied Science. Peters comes to the university from Texas A&M University, where he researched design, analysis, operation and control of manufacturing systems. In addition to serving as dean, Peters will head the construction and research programming at Innovation Park, UWM’s technical park campus in Wauwatosa, and continue the university’s involvement with the Wisconsin Energy Research Consortium.
Kelly Dries has been named dean of Cardinal Stritch University’s Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing. She most recently served as an associate dean in the School of Health Sciences at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
The UWM School of Continuing Education has added LG Shanklin-Flowers as executive director of public allies, Cheryl Baldwin as director and assistant professor for the Youth Work Learning Center, and Chris Baxter as the assistant director of conference services.
Engineering
Mark Wilfert, has been hired as a senior transportation engineer and manager of the Roadway Design Group at K. Singh and Associates Inc., Elm Grove. He has 10 years of engineering experience, including project management, budgeting, roadway design standards, preliminary and final design.
Financial Services
Johnson Bank has named Robert A. Nielsen senior vice president of the Commercial Specialty Group. Nielsen has 22 years of financial services experience, and most recently served as a director at M&I Bank. Mark Matthiesen and Roger Sandell join Johnson Bank as senior vice presidents, commercial banking relationship managers. The bank also promoted Matthew Demet to senior retirement plan services sales and product executive.
Accounting firm Komisar Brady & Co. LLP, Milwaukee, has promoted Carly Bruskiewicz to accounting senior and Stacey Zelinski to accounting manager.
Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc., Milwaukee, recently awarded the 2012 Brenton H. Rupple Citizen Award to managing director Glen Hackmann. Hackmann currently serves as chairman of the board for the United Performing Arts Fund.
WaterStone Bank has placed two of its bank managers in their hometown branches. Robin Kaufman will leave the bank’s Waukesha/Brookfield location for Pewaukee, and Mary Schalig will move to WaterStone’s Oconomowoc/Lake Country branch from her previous location in Pewaukee.
AILCO, an equipment financing group in Waukesha, has hired Mark Sorenson as operations manager. Sorenson has 25 years of experience in financial services. The company also promoted Trischia Hayes to inside sales manager. Hayes has been with the firm since 2002.
Health Care
Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa, has named Lynn Fischer and Michael Anderes as vice presidents for clinical and support services. Fischer has more than 25 years of health care leadership experience, most recently as an associate vice president at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas. Anderes recently served as director of strategy and network development at Fort Collins, Colo.-based Poudre Valley Health System.
API Healthcare, Hartford, hired Karlene Kerfoot as vice president of nursing. Kerfoot comes to API after serving in executive positions at Aurora Health Care System in Milwaukee, Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis, and the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston. She is the founder of Kerfoot & Associates.
Sara Elizabeth Hamm has been named senior vice president of quality services and risk management at Assisted Living Concepts Inc., a Menomonee Falls-based operator of assisted-living and senior residences. Hamm has 30 years of nursing experience.
Advanced Pain Management, Greenfield, announced that Nina Bendre has been hired as a nurse practitioner. Previously, Bendre worked as a registered nurse at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.

The Hyatt Regency Milwaukee has been chosen as the hotel recipient of the 2012 Religious Conference Manager Praise Award. The RCMA gives out the awards to hotels, conference centers and visitors bureaus who demonstrate superior service.

The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) has awarded Milwaukee Assistant District Attorney Christoper Ladwig the 2012 Innovation in Community Engagement (I.C.E) Award, for his work in a challenging neighborhood. His initiatives included prostitution abatement, inebriate nuisance abatement, and improving the look of vacant and foreclosed properties.

DUECO Inc., Waukesha, has named Marikris O’Grady executive vice president. O’Grady will be responsible for operations, finance, IT and human resources. She most recently led DUECO’s inside sales team.

Milwaukee Succeeds, the cradle-to-career educational partnership that aims to improve educational outcomes for all students in Milwaukee, has hired Mike Soika as its first director. Soika will lead and direct the work of the partnership by continuing to recruit and engage partner organizations, oversee the work of the various committees and continue to move the partnership forward. Soika has spent the last seven years as vice president of social responsibility and mission impact at the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.

Nation Consulting, Milwaukee, has named Jeff Blumb a partner in the public strategies firm. He will oversee the firm’s northeast Wisconsin practice. Blumb comes to the company after working for the Green Bay Packers where he spent more than 20 years and most recently served as the team’s director of public relations.
EmPowerHr, with locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Texas, has hired Carole Tapp as a senior HR consultant. Tapp has 20 years of experience. She will serve in the Mequon office.
New Resources Consulting, Milwaukee, announced that Brian Birchbauer will lead the firm’s management consulting practice. Birchbauer has worked in the financial and insurance services industries for 16 years.
Accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP Wisconsin has named two new partners. Carver Smith joins the firm’s search and staffing team, and Brent Wagner joins as a certified public accountant.

Irgens, Wauwatosa, has added two real estate professionals to its asset property management group. Betsy Gleason returns to the firm as asset management and lease administration coordinator after a previous tenure, and MaryCatherin Hunefeld will serve as assistant property manager.
