Dr. Raj Rao, professor of orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, has been appointed chairperson of the Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Devices Panel of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Rao, who is a practicing orthopaedic surgeon at Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, will chair the FDA’s lead advisory panel that reviews the safety and efficacy of orthopaedic and spine-related devices for marketing in the U.S. Rao has served as a voting member on the panel since 2006.
He joined the MCW faculty in 1999.
