AutoZone plans to build a 6,000-square-foot auto parts store along East Capitol Drive in Milwaukee.

The Memphis, Tennessee-based company submitted plans for a single-story building at 208 E. Capitol Drive, between Outpost Natural Foods and a newly constructed Taco Bell restaurant, in the Riverworks district. The project includes new landscaping and lighting, as well as a 24-stall parking lot.

The property is split between the cities of Milwaukee and Glendale, but the retail store itself would be located in Milwaukee, according to City of Glendale documents. Glendaleโ€™s Plan Commission will review the proposed plans on April 13.

Construction is expected to be complete by September, with an opening later that month. The store would have eight to 12 employees. Proposed daily operating hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

AutoZone currently has 30 stores in southeastern Wisconsin. In December, the company announced plans to open a โ€œmega hubโ€ store on the cityโ€™s northwest side, in a former Pick โ€˜n Save store building.
