NAIOP Wisconsin members honored
NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has announced the winners of its prestigious Developing Leaders Award for 2016 including three Wisconsin chapter members.
Award winners are development professionals under the age of 35 who demonstrate strong leadership, community involvement, and top professional accomplishments in the industry.
NAIOP Wisconsin award winners are:
- Brian Adamson, managing partner, ICAP Development
- Liza Jablonski, assistant vice president, Associated Bank
- Mike Riopel, attorney, von Briesen & Roper SC
“These are outstanding and well-deserving young professionals and leaders in the development industry here in Wisconsin and beyond,” said Jim Villa, NAIOP Wisconsin CEO. “They demonstrate the skills, talents, and qualities we want to see from the leaders of the development industry today, and in the future.”
The winners will be presented their award at the NAIOP 2016 Commercial Real Estate Conference, in September in Scottsdale, Ariz.
WHEDA Foundation Awards $500,000 in 2016 Housing Grants
The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) is awarding $500,000 in housing grants to 28 special‐needs housing providers throughout the state, including six in the Milwaukee-area.
The local award recipients are:
- Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee, $25,000
- WestCare Wisconsin, Inc., $25,000
- United Community Center, $25,000
- Social Development Commission, $10,000
- The Salvation Army, $10,000
- Cathedral Center, Inc. $7,470
These grants, awarded during WHEDA’s annual Housing Grant Program competition, help housing providers build new facilities or make improvements to their existing facilities. WHEDA received 48 applications through the housing grant competition this year totaling $1.1 million in funding requests.
Since 1985, the WHEDA Foundation has issued 1,058 awards totaling $22.97 million to housing providers across the state.
