Urban sprawl from the Chicago area continues to spread across the state line as several housing projects are being proposed in Pleasant Prairie. The village’s Plan Commission recently held public hearings on three more residential developments that would bring more than 300 additional homes to the rapidly growing community.
Alfa Land LLC wants to develop an 81-home subdivision to be called Ashbury Creek, south of Wilmot Road and north of Bain Station Road at 94th Avenue.
Westminster Swanson Land Partners LLC wants to build a 112-home subdivision to be called Stonebridge Farms, south of 93rd Street and west of Cooper Road.
Regency-Hills Devonshire LLC wants to build a 120-home subdivision to be called Devonshire, south of 93rd Street between 48th Avenue and Cooper Road.
Pleasant Prairie is one of the fastest-growing communities in southeastern Wisconsin. The village’s population grew 15 percent from 16,136 in 2000 to 18,551 in 2005, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
