UMB adopts JD Clark brand
UMB Fund Services, Inc. (UMBFS), a Milwaukee-based subsidiary of UMB Financial Corp., has rebranded its Alternative Investment Services division as JD Clark & Company, a division of UMB Fund Services.
For its mutual fund servicing business, UMBFS will continue to use the name UMB Fund Services Inc.
UMBFS, which was formed in 1990 as a provider of back-office services for mutual funds, expanded its offerings in 2002 to include services for alternative investment products such as hedge funds. The line of business grew significantly in May 2009 when UMBFS acquired JD Clark & Company, an established Utah-based firm specializing in servicing alternative investment products. The two operations have been consolidating their systems and processes to provide consistent service to their combined 77 clients representing approximately 300 funds and more than $17.5 billion in assets.
As part of the consolidation, the JD Clark & Company name has been adopted for the entire alternative investments servicing division, which has offices in both Ogden, Utah, and Media, Pa.
"This rebranding allows us to capitalize upon the strong reputation of JD Clark & Company, a name that has become synonymous with operational excellence in the alternative investment industry over the last 20 years," said John Zader, chief executive officer of UMBFS. "The name transition underscores our commitment to becoming recognized as the leading provider of outsourcing services to the alternative investment industry."
