Milwaukee gets “UnGeeked” at social media event

SohoBiztube.com will present UnGeeked Elite: A Social Media & Marketing Forum, a three-day professional event on Thursday, May 13 through Saturday, May 15 at the University Club in Milwaukee. Eight nationally known speakers will join local social media enthusiasts to highlight the event.
“I’ve been in the Milwaukee community a long time, and have spent the last 12 years as an entrepreneur here,” said Cd Vann, founder of UnGeeked Elite. “I’m very passionate about social media and what it can do to promote the corporate brand. I decided that I wanted to bring a national event to Milwaukee as a way to give back to our community.” The three day event will feature keynotes from nationally and internationally known authors and speakers including:
Olivier Blanchard – Marketing and branding strategist, BrandBuilder Marketing and Red Chair Group
Jason Falls – Marketing and PR strategist, social media explorer
Dan Schawbel – Personal branding guru, author, Business Week columnist
Sally Hogshead – Best-selling author of "Fascinate," marketing consultant and CBS and NYT opt-in
Visible Technologies – Social media monitoring and CRM
Chris Brogan – Social media guru and best-selling author of "Trust Agents"
Hubspot – National leader in inbound and outbound marketing software applications
Scott Stratten – Viral marketing guru and author of soon to be released, "Stop Marketing and Start Engaging"
Local panelists and social media “mavens” will supplement the keynote events with seminars that will cover topics including positioning your internal and external brand, managing inbound and outbound marketing efforts; facilitating online customer relationships, building strategic public relations campaigns and monitoring social trends among clients and customers.
According to Vann, “Ungeeked” is an “unplugged” even that will feature minimal slide presentations, and will encourage audience involvement and participation.
“The attendees will have an opportunity to talk with, rather than being presented to by these social media A-listers,” Vann said. “These presenters have agreed to speak at this event knowing that I want the audience to take the mic and interact with them. It’s an opportunity for our presenters and for our attendees because lets face it, how often are you really going to get a chance to talk to these people in virtually a face to face atmosphere.”
The first 100 people to register for the event will also receive the added value of participating in an exclusive 20-on-1 private consultation session with the keynote of their choice.
“The 20-on-1 experience is usually unheard of, but its an additional added value for our attendees, and it gives them an opportunity for even more personal one on one conversations with the presenters,” Vann said.
Cost to attend is $250 per person for one day of the event. Early Bird Registration has been extended until Wednesday, May 12 and allows attendees to attend all three days for $550. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and books by all the authors. According to Vann, tickets for the virtual portion of the event will be available beginning Monday, May 10 for $99 a day or $199 for all three days.
