The owners of Walker’s Point restaurant Merriment Social are planning to open a second restaurant that would be located in the former Carnevor space on Milwaukee Street in downtown Milwaukee.
Business partners Andrew Miller, Cameron Whyte, and Samuel Emery are planning to open Third Coast Provisions at 724 N. Milwaukee St.
The restaurant would be open for dinner Monday through Saturday, according to a liquor license application filed with the City of Milwaukee.
On Monday, Miller released a statement saying the restaurant would focus on modern seafood preparations and seasonally utilizing products from the Great Lakes region and beyond.
The restaurant will include an oyster bar serving multiple varieties of fresh oysters and shellfish daily when it opens in early summer.
“The mission of the restaurant is to create an unparalleled seafood experience for Milwaukee
patrons,” Miller said in a statement.
The trio has enlisted a Chicago-based restaurant designer to consult on the design of the interior.
Merriment Social, 240 E Pittsburgh Ave., opened in Summer 2015.
SURG Restaurant Group moved Carnevor Steakhouse Moderne  to 718 N. Milwaukee St., which reopened on Jan. 27 after a brief hiatus.
