The owners of Le Rêve Patisserie and Café in the Village of Wauwatosa have purchased the two storefronts next to the restaurant with plans for expansion.
Quatre Chiens LLC, which is registered to owner and chef at Le Reve, Andrew Schneider, purchased 7600-7606 Harwood Ave., for $850,000 from Harwood LLC, according to state records.
According to a source at the restaurant, the purchase was made so the restaurant can expand.
Schneider and Therese Hittman opened Le Rêve, 7610 Harwood Ave., in summer 2008 after converting a 100-year-old bank building into the bistro and café.
The restaurant has since consistently been voted as a favorite among area diners.
Schneider and Hittman could not immediately be reached for comment. In December 2015, the owners of Le Reve received approval from the Wauwatosa plan commission to combine the properties into one restaurant. At the time, Schneider said he would like to serve a line of ice cream and gelato in the future.
Currently the dining room serves about 80 people. The entire property 7600-7610 Harwood Ave. is 11,531 square feet.
