• Construction of Manpower Inc.’s new, $78 million corporate headquarters, a 280,000-square-foot, four-story office building under construction just west of the Milwaukee River and just south of West Cherry Street in downtown Milwaukee will be complete this year.
• The $15.6 million remodeling of the downtown Milwaukee Amtrak train station, 433 W. St. Paul Ave., will transform the station into an intermodal station, which will also become the downtown station for Greyhound buses. The project is expected to be complete later this year.
• Construction of the $240 million expansion of Potawatomi Bingo Casino at 1721 W. Canal St., Milwaukee, is expected to be complete in 2008.
• Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. is building a six-story, 400,000-square-foot expansion of its Franklin campus at South 27th Street and West Drexel Avenue. The $85 million project is expected to be complete in 2008.
• Joseph Zilber, chairman of Zilber Ltd., has begun work to redevelop the 21-acre, former Pabst brewery in downtown Milwaukee into a mixed-use neighborhood.
• Mandel Group will begin work this year to demolish the former Pfister & Vogel tannery and build about 500 apartments and condominiums and about 30,000 square feet of retail space on the site along the Milwaukee River in downtown Milwaukee.
• Oak Brook-based Renaissant Development Group LLC is building Park Lafayette, a pair of 20-story condominium towers at North Prospect Avenue and East Lafayette Place on Milwaukee’s east side. The development will create 280 condominiums.
• Construction will continue this year on the $95 million, 130,000-square-foot Harley-Davidson Inc. museum complex at South 6th Street and West Canal Street. The project is expected to be complete in 2008.
• Columbia St. Mary’s is consolidating its two east side hospitals with a $417 million project at its St. Mary’s campus on the east side of Milwaukee.
• Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa is building a $120 million expansion, which will include a 173,000-square-foot cancer center, 67,000 square feet of new clinical space, additional office space and an 8,000-square-foot emergency department.
• Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare is building a 275,000-square-foot, $80 million hospital on a 55-acre site in Franklin at the northwest corner of South 27th Street and Oakwood Road.
