The Wisconsin State Fair has expanded its 2015 music lineup with pop performer Jason Derulo in addition to the Under the Sun Tour and John Kay & Steppenwolf.
The fair, presented by U.S. Cellular, will run Aug. 6-16 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.
Derulo, scheduled to perform on Friday, Aug. 7, has sold more than 30 million albums, according to fair officials. Among his top hits are the songs “Wiggle,” “Talk Dirty,” “Trumpets” and “Want to Want Me.” The singer-songwriter is releasing his next album, “Every Is 4,” on June 2. His state fair show will open with Jasmine V, an actress and singer who recently released her new single, “That’s Me Right There” with Kendrick Lamar. The show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $39 and $29, and seating will be reserved.
The Under the Sun Tour will take over the fair’s Main Stage on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. The tour features a mashup of pop and rock artists from the past 20 years – Sugar Ray, Better Than Ezra, Uncle Kracker and Eve 6. Show tickets costs $35 and $25, and seating will be reserved.
John Kay & Steppenwolf will hit the Main Stage on Friday, Aug. 14, for an 8 p.m. performance. The rock band was made famous by hits like “Born to Be Wild” and “Magic Carpet Ride.” Lou Gramm, The Voice of Foreigner, will kick off the show with well-known songs like “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You.” Tickets will also cost $35 and $25 for the show, and seating will be reserved.
Fairgoers interested in catching any of the stage acts can purchase tickets beginning Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m. at www.wistatefair.com and at the fair ticket office, located at 7722 W. Greenfield Ave. in West Allis.
Individuals who purchase Main Stage tickets prior to entering the fair will be guaranteed fair admission.
