Former Journal Sentinel publisher buys downtown condo for $1.27 million

Located on 24th floor of Kilbourn Tower

Elizabeth “Betsy” Brenner, the former president and publisher of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, purchased a condominium on the 24th floor in the Kilbourn Tower for $1.27 million, according to state records.

Brenner, 61, retired from the paper on June 30 after leading it for more than a decade.

Brenner bought the 3,430-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath condo from Bruce and Joyce Myers. The property is assessed by the city of Milwaukee for $880,400.

Other notable residents in Kilbourn Tower, include Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun who purchased a condo on the 21st floor in 2013 for $635,500, and real estate developer Joel Lee.

Kilbourn Tower is a 33-story condominium tower, built in 2005 at 923 E. Kilbourn Ave. at the southwest corner of Kilbourn and Prospect avenues. The building is just north of the University Club Tower.
