Stacy Madlock of Milwaukee plans to open an indoor family entertainment center, called Kangaroo, in the former Circuit City building at 8173 W. Brown Deer Road on the far northwest side of Milwaukee.

The Circuit City store closed in late 2008. The building is owned by Mallory Properties.

If approved by city officials, Kangaroo will have inflatable amusements such as obstacle courses, slides and bounce houses, and other attractions that could include bumper cars, arcade games, a carousel and a dance machine.

Food that will be served at Kangaroo could include pizza, chicken snacks, cotton candy, popcorn and nachos.

The business will have about 12 to 16 employees, according to information submitted to the city.

“Our focus is family fun in a safe, welcoming and child friendly environment,” the Kangaroos submission to the city states. “Our facility is designed to allow children to run, jump, bounce and play, engaging them in fun recreations that promote an active lifestyle. Many Milwaukee residents that now travel to the surrounding suburbs for these types of amusements will be able to access them right in their own community.”
