Timmer’s Resort in West Bend is under new ownership.
F Street Hospitality group recently bought the resort from previous owners George and Judi Prescott. The resort, located at 5151 Timmer Bay Road on Big Cedar Lake, was sold for $3 million, according to state records.
The final sale was facilitated by CBRE, who was the listing and selling broker.
Timmer’s Resort is a lake resort that first opened in 1882. It started as a single hotel but now includes six individually designed guest cottages, and was named one of Forbes’ Top 100 brunch spots of 2017. The Prescotts purchased the resort in 2007 and oversaw renovation and preservation efforts.
F Street Hospitality is a restaurant and entertainment group and a piece of the F Street Group investment portfolio, according to a news release. The hospitality group also oversees the operation of Pizza Man restaurants, Glass and Griddle, and Venue Forty Two in the Milwaukee area.
“We are looking forward to celebrating the history and tradition that makes Timmer’s Resort so special and ensure guests receive the same great experience they’ve grown accustomed to after all these years,” Scott Lurie, president of F Street Group, said in the release.
Mike Doney, director of marketing and creative with F Street Group, said in an email the group doesn’t plan to make any changes save for some potentially minor improvements. He added that Lurie has been going to the resort for a few years, and couldn’t pass on the opportunity to purchase it and ensuring the resort remained locally owned.
“Judi and I are confident that the F Street team will carry on the culture and tradition that we and our employees worked hard to build over the last 10-plus years,” George Prescott said in the release.
