BizTimes Media invites business leaders human resources directors interested in creating or improving their corporate employee wellness programs to attend the Anthem Wellness Summit, which will be held Thursday, March 27.
“Wellness 2.0” will be the theme of the summit, which will be sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Wisconsin.
The program will feature a panel of executives from companies that have taken employee wellness to the next level.
The panel will include:

* David Carpenter, president, Chr. Hansen Inc., Milwaukee.

* Jeanette Pham, co-founder and vice president, Sosh, Milwaukee.
The panelists will share insights about how and why they formed employee wellness programs at their companies. They will discuss best practices, lessons learned, the return on investment and more.
The companies represented on the panel are among the employers who are being creative about engaging their employees in wellness, thereby reducing their costs of health care and facilitating a more productive workforce.
Some of their best practices include: establishing a company wellness committee; offering health risk assessments for employees; delivering fresh fruit and vegetables to the workplace; sharing healthy recipes; offering free chair massages; underwriting costs for participation in charity walks or runs; underwriting employees’ monthly fees to join a gym or health club; offering healthy foods in vending machines; paying for employees’ flu shots; offering smoking cessation programs; installing stand-up work stations, some of which include tread mills; offering chiropractic adjustments in the workplace; and more.
The Anthem Wellness Summit will take place March 27 at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West Hotel in Wauwatosa from 7:30 to 10 a.m. The event will be presented in conjunction with The Wellness Council.
