Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin plans to move 475 employees and multiple divisions to 80,000 square feet of office space that it has leased at the Summit Place Office Complex at 6737 W. Washington St. in West Allis, city and hospital officials announced on Monday.
The move is expected to occur in late spring and early summer of 2014.
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is located at the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus in Wauwatosa, where it occupies 1.5 million square feet of space. Summit Place is located 3.5 miles from that complex.
“By moving various off-site departments to Summit Place in West Allis, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is able to efficiently and cost-effectively consolidate many off-campus functions into one centrally located ‘mini-campus’ that provides additional on-site amenities for staff and keeps us connected to the communities we serve,” said Marc Cadieux, vice president of financial services for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
In early 2013, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Community Health Plan division occupied space at Summit Place. Children’s Hospital plans to add various finance and information management services functions to the leased space at Summit Place that was formerly occupied by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
“Children’s addition to West Allis exemplifies the vibrancy of our city and business community,” said West Allis Mayor Dan Devine.
