High-speed train hits 111 mph
An Amtrak passenger train hit a regional record of 111 miles per hour on Oct. 19 in a test run of the route between Chicago and St. Louis.
Amtrak sets new ridership record
Amtrak announced today it carried more than 31.2 million passengers in fiscal year 2012 ending Sept. 30, marking the highest annual ridership total since the rail system started operations in 1971 and the ninth ridership record during the last ten years.

American Airlines cancels flights

State awards design contract for Hoan Bridge project
Michael Baker Jr. Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corp., has been awarded an $8.9 million contract by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the final design of the Hoan Bridge and the Interstate 794 Lake Parkway in Milwaukee.
