Westin hotel planned downtown
Milwaukee-based Jackson Street Management LLC plans to build a 200-room Westin hotel on a vacant lot south of the U.S. Bank Center at 777 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.

Harp & Eagle Ltd., which owns several small hotels and restaurants in Wisconsin including Country Clare Irish Inn & Pub in Milwaukee, recently purchased the 20-room Clarke Hotel in downtown Waukesha for $1 million, according to state records.
General Capital buys Bluemound Road retail buildings
An affiliate of Fox Point-based real estate firm General Capital Group recently purchased the Capitol Plaza retail buildings at 14625 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, from Michael L. Green LLC of Milwaukee for $2.95 million, according to state records.

Butler-based medical device components and assemblies manufacturer MRPC has opened the 15,000-square-foot expansion to its facility at 13161 W. Glendale Ave. The facility now totals 100,000 square feet.

Survey says 63% in region oppose state funds for arena
About 63 percent of Milwaukee-area voters oppose the use of state funds for a new arena for the Milwaukee Bucks. Statewide, 73 percent oppose it, according to a new report from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Center for Urban Initiatives and Research.
