St. Aemilian-Lakeside accredited by Praesidium
St. Aemilian-Lakeside, Inc., a nonprofit human services organization dedicated to foster care, education and mental health services in Southeastern Wisconsin, has received Praesidium Accreditation, according to an announcement the organization made Wednesday.
Milwaukee radio celebrities bartend to benefit charities
As part of Bayshore Town Center's first annual Shop & Dine Week, area radio personalities will serve as celebrity bartenders at Bayshore restaurants to raise funds for the charities of their choice. Tips they receive during their hours bartending will go directly to their charities, and Bayshore Community Foundation will match their tip total. The celebrity bartenders will serve Monday, Sept. 10, through Thursday, Sept. 13.
Medical College of Wisconsin receives grant to research ear infections
The Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Research Institute will use a $1.6 million grant to research ear infections and target new treatment methods to prevent ear infections from leading to hearing loss and other complications.

The Brewers Community Foundation and Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks have teamed up to sponsor Teach For America in Milwaukee under its “Sponsor-A-Teacher” program, according to an announcement the foundation released Monday.
Marquette dental receives $1 million from alumni
Marquette University announced a $1 million donation from Marquette School of Dentistry alumnus Dr. Jeff Moos and his wife, Beth, to go toward the Building for the Future campaign and help fund the school's 40,000-square-foot expansion.

Gilda’s Club changes name but retains mission
Gilda’s Club of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. – a free support program for cancer victims of all backgrounds suffering from all types of cancer – is taking on a new name to better reflect its mission and its association with its national affiliate. The organization, a member of Cancer Support Community, now exists as Cancer Support Community Greater Milwaukee.
