BizTimes Around Town: Milwaukee’s Earth Day Celebration
The City of Milwaukee's Office of Environmental Sustainability partnered with Rock the Green to hold the third annual "Milwaukee's Earth Day Celebration" on April 22 in downtown Milwaukee. The celebration featured a variety of onsite eco-friendly efforts, including reclamation stations facilitated by Waste Management, sustainable and organic lunches, a bicycle pedal-powered stage, and eco-educational booths staffed by event sponsors and organizations. The celebration also included addresses from community leaders about ongoing sustainability initiatives. Photos contributed by Rock the Green, which will host its third near-zero waste music festival in Milwaukee this September.
Bucyrus Foundation to donate $1 million to UPAF
The United Performing Arts Fund announced on Wednesday it will receive a $1 million gift from the Bucyrus Foundation to be distributed over the next 10 years.
