Ropes course proposed at Whitnall Park
Go Ape Ltd., a ropes course operator based in the United Kingdom with its U.S. headquarters in Silver Spring, Md., wants to create one of its “treetop adventure courses” in Milwaukee County's Whitnall Park, according to a memo from Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture Director John Dargle Jr. to Supervisor Gerry Broderick, who chairs the County Board's Parks, Energy and Environment Committee. The committee will review the proposal on April 15.
Common Ground votes against new arena
Common Ground's Fair Play Assembly, a group of more than 600 congregations, nonprofits, small businesses and schools dedicated to greatness in public spaces, voted yesterday to oppose a new Milwaukee arena unless $150 to $200 million is invested in public Milwaukee County facilities that benefit children.
