Gazzana is new acting CEO of Cardiac Advancements
Sussex-based Cardiac Advancements LLC, announced Thomas Gazzana has joined the organization as chief operating officer and acting chief executive officer.
Gazzana also services as a director of the company.
He recently retired from Children’s Hospital and Health System where his 15-year year tenure included various roles, and he was the interim president of Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Children’s Hospital, Gazzana was president and CEO of Coordinated Care Corp., a Medicaid HMO which is now publicly traded as Centene Corp.
“Tom’s health care industry experience includes knowledge of systems, valued services and best practices that will position our company for continued growth,” said Cardiac Advancements board chairman, Samuel Bradt. “Tom’s strong leadership will also complement our CEO, George Dalton, enabling George to focus all of his energy on recovering from heart surgery and regaining his health.”
Cardia Advancements founders Timothy Lohman, president, and Susan Wendland, vice president, formed the company as an outcome of the sale of its predecessor, Cardiac Evaluation Center Inc.

Allen receives 2011 Social Innovation Prize
Will Allen, CEO of Growing Power will receive the 2011 Social Innovation Prize in Wisconsin for his project Growing Capacity for the Green Economy Initiative. 
This project addresses social problems in the inner city of Milwaukee and aims to be a model for other urban areas throughout our state and our country by growing food, growing minds, and growing community. The Prize includes a $5,000 investment in an exceptional individual over the age of 50 who is defying expectations by channeling his or her creativity and talent to address critical social problems at the local, regional, or national level. The award also allows the winner to choose an organization to receive an additional $5,000.
