*Sunday, Feb. 23, the City of Milwaukee will celebrate Fred Usinger Day. Milwaukee has been honoring the famous sausage maker since 2005, when Mayor Tom Barrett officially proclaimed Feb. 23 as Fred Usinger Day. The celebration will be held at the Old German Beer Hall, located at 1009 N. Old World Third St. in Milwaukee, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees will receive one free Usinger bratwurst to honor Usinger’s legacy.
*Monday, Feb. 24, the Marquette University College of Business Administration and the Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship will welcome John Stollenwerk, former CEO, president and owner of Allen Edmonds Shoe Corporation, to speak in the “After Hours Speaker Series.” Stollenwerk will talk about his career at Allen Edmonds, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer and retailer of footwear, and will also touch on his drive to keep manufacturing alive in the United States. His presentation is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Marquette University’s Weasler Auditorium, located at 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee.
