  • Tuesday, Feb. 15 The Waukesha County Business Alliance will host a Networking After 5 event at the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum, 101 W. Main St., from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost to attend Networking After 5 is $15 for Alliance members and $30 for nonmembers.   • Friday, Feb. 18 the Independent Business Association will host it’s Friday Breakfast Series from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Wisconsin Club in downtown Milwaukee. Rev. Dr. Patrick Ferry, president of Concordia University will discuss  ” A View of Wisconsin Education Reform from a Higher Education Perspective.” Cost to attend is $30 for IBA Members and $40 for guests.   • Saturday, Feb. 12 The 15th Annual Steve Cullen Healthy Heart Club Run & Walk will be held at Wil-O-Way Recreation Center, 10602 Underwood Parkway in Wauwatosa. The event supports heart research at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Cardiovasular Center. The Cullen Run/Walk is an 8-kilometer USA Track and Field (USATF) competitive run and a 2-mile fun run/walk following a scenic path along Underwood Parkway in Wauwatosa. Sponsored by the Cullen family and the Badgerland Striders, the event includes famous Cullen Family & Friends Chili, refreshments, food, exercise fitness consultants, an awards ceremony and live music for the entire family. The event is held in memory of Steve Cullen, a former Milwaukee alderman, who died in 1995 at age 40 of sudden cardiac arrhythmia. His father, at age 41, and two brothers, ages 53 and 51, also died of heart disease. Register online or in person, cost to run is $22 for individuals and $70 for families of four. Team registration is encouraged for companies, schools and organizations with five or more participants who compete for the "Biggest Heart" trophy, most dollars raised for heart research, or the "Fleetest Feet" trophies, fastest times for male, female and mixed teams.
  • Saturday, Feb. 12 Marcus Theatres and Variety- The Children’s Charity of Wisconsin will show Gnomeo and Juliet at select theatre locations as part of its Reel Movies for Real Needs film series.  “Reel Movies for Real Needs” is designed for families of special-needs children with autism or other challenges who seldom attend the movies. All movies in the film series begin at 10:30 a.m. The “Reel Movies for Real Needs” program creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for special needs children by offering family films with a lower sound volume and brighter lighting for families who may not feel comfortable attending regularly scheduled shows.   • Tuesday, Feb. 15 The American Marketing Association will host Jill Morin, executive officer at Khaler Slater Architects in Milwaukee and author of "Better Make it Real: Creating Authenticity in an increasingly Fake World" at its monthly luncheon.   • Tuesday, Feb. 22 the Business Marketing Association Milwaukee chapter will host its annual Student Speed Interview/Resume review event at the Manpower Headquarters in downtown Milwaukee from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is an opportunity for interested students to practice interview skills, discuss their resume with local marketing professionals and learn powerful tips to sell themselves through social media avenues.
