Esker Technologies LLC, Milwaukee, was recently awarded the “General Motors SEMA Design Award for Most Innovative Product” for ZeroWire, a patented wireless electronic technology that replaces conventional wiring systems in vehicles and industrial equipment. SEMA (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association) hosts the second largest show in the U.S. for the automotive industry, and among the many applicants for the General Motors awards, ZeroWire was welcomed into the General Motors family with one of 13 recognitions. ZeroWire’s green technology offers innovative ways to offer more energy efficient vehicles while increasing electronics reliability, capability and reducing production costs. It simplifies conventional wiring systems by eliminating a majority of wires, connectors, and analog components. By using the power wires of the vehicle for communication and control, the need for separate data transmission lines are no longer required. The technology increases reliability, improves fuel efficiency by reducing vehicle weight and simplifies diagnostic evaluation.
