Associated Banc-Corp has been fined $500,000 by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
The civil money penalty is a result of problems with the bank’s Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering procedures, which the OCC identified in a February 23, 2012, consent order. The consent order was lifted in March, the bank said.
“The company had earlier announced that a civil money penalty was anticipated in the process, and now believes no additional penalties will be imposed on the bank related to the consent order,” a bank spokesperson said.
