Alverno College launches volunteer campaign

Learn more about:

Milwaukee-based Alverno College recently kicked off its Caring Counts: The Alverno College Volunteer Challenge, as part of its 2012 125th anniversary celebration. The year-long project aims to record 125,000 hours of volunteer service.
“Service to others has always been an integral part of the Alverno experience,” said
Mary  Meehan, Ph.D., president of Alverno College. “Our students, faculty and staff have a deep commitment to volunteering, and during our anniversary year we want to challenge them to do more.”
The campus will hold its annual Community Day on  April 25. Classes are cancelled, and all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to volunteer at one of dozens of sites organized by the school. Last year, close to 500 people participated, donating over 1,300 hours of their time.
Anyone who has a tie to the college is invited to take part in Caring Counts.
