Small office building planned in Hartland

Construction company would relocate, some space available for additional tenants

Miller Marriott Construction Company plans to build a 4,000-square-foot office building on vacant land in Hartland.

The company would move its headquarters into the building, which will be located next door to its current headquarters at 301 Pawling Ave. James Marriott & Associates, which is also currently located at 301 Pawling Ave., would also relocate to the newly-constructed office building, said Chris Miller, owner of Miller Marriott Construction.

The two-story office building would have some space left over for additional tenants to lease, Miller said.

“We feel there is a market in Hartland for people who are looking to have a second office in addition to their office in downtown Milwaukee, or space to get out of their home office,” he said.

The Hartland joint architectural board and plan commission will consider the proposal tonight.

Miller renovated Hartland’s Historic Train Station in 2007, and relocated his business there. The 2,113-square-foot building, built in 1867, is under contract to be sold to another office tenant who would be relocating to Hartland from another suburb, Miller said.

Miller is hoping to start construction on the new office building in May or June and have it completed in six months.
