Wauwatosa-based Briggs & Stratton Corp. is scheduled to host an Earth Day sustainable business workshop and awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 29.
The ceremony will recognize winners of the second annual Earth Day Business Sustainability Awards from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. The awards are designed to honor Wisconsin businesses making significant sustainable business decisions that demonstrate that saving money and improving a business’ environmental/social performance can go hand-in-hand.
The three awards are for: Sustainable Leadership, Sustainable Product of the Year and Sustainable Process of the Year.

Besides the awards ceremony, the Earth Day event will also feature a morning workshop on the development and use of sustainability metrics. Presentations will focus on the collection of data, the transformation of data into information, and the use of sustainability information to shape the behavior of business.
The workshop is presented by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council in partnership with Cool Choices and the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
