The 127-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel that First Hospitality Group Inc. is building in the historic Loyalty Building in downtown Milwaukee is expected to open Nov. 1, said hotel general manager Lisa Farrell.
“That’s (the day) we’re hoping to open on,” she said.
Work crews led by Stevens Construction Corp. have been working to redevelop the 126-year-old, 6-story, 92,000-square-foot Loyalty Building from an office building into a hotel.
“There’s probably 150 people in the building every day working,” Farrell said. “It’s amazing what can change in one day (of work in the building).”
When it opens, the hotel will have 60 to 70 employees, Farrell said.
In addition to the 127 hotel rooms, the downtown Hilton Garden Inn will also have a restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for hotel guests and the general public.
The hotel will use the Grain Exchange Room, located across the street in the Mackie Building, for events.
Reservations at the Hotel can be made for as early as Nov. 15. Later this month reservations will be available for dates closer to Nov. 1, Farrell said.
The Hilton Garden Inn is one of four hotel developments currently under construction in and near the downtown area.
